BMW Motorrad Motorsport

Thanks to the agreement between General Manager Genesio Bevilacqua and BMW Motorrad Motorsport, Althea Racing will compete this year with BMW S1000RR bikes, entrusting them to young German talent Markus Reiterberger and Spanish rider Jordi Torres in the Superbike World Championship, and to Italian Raffaele De Rosa in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup.
The historic helix logo forms the base of the new Althea BMW Racing livery on its innovative black/white background, the new official team colours, a revisiting of the colours of the BMW R 32, the first real motorcycle model produced by the German manufacturer.
The long history of BMW Motorrad began on 28 September 1923 with the inauguration of the Berlin Motor Show, where the public admired the R32, developed in the space of just a few weeks by Technical Director Max Friz and his team.
The Althea Racing team’s experience thus combines with the reliability of a great brand that has gone from being an aeronautical engine factory in Baveria to achieving the sporting and commercial successes of the present day, with the technical innovations introduced after the First World War and the many models that came in subsequent years.

specialmente

SpecialMente

SpecialMente was created as a result BMW Group Italia’s desire to recount initiatives, ideas, and particular moments. Since 2002 we have been a partner of the Milan Teatro alla Scala. In 2003, together with the ski school in Sauze d’Oulz in Piedmont, we shared the Sciabile project that has so far allowed 900 disabled youngsters the chance to dream and enjoy themselves. Since 2013 we have actively supported the Intercultural Innovation Award developed by the BMW Group and by UNAOC (United Nation Alliance of Civilization). In 2014, together with the Università Bicocca of Milan, we have encouraged more than one thousand people, including students, cultural operators, the press and institutions, to consider the theme of Interculture with a dedicated conference. In the same year we developed an initiative together with Dynamo Camp, the association for recreational therapy, and the San Raffaele hospital in Milan to help those youngsters suffering from neuro-generative illnesses to enjoy an inclusive, unique experience in San Marcello Pistoiese, home to the Dynamo Camp. When we were coming up with a name for this latest project, one morning it occurred to us to call it “SpecialMente”, because the people that animate and live it are special, as are the children experiencing it. “Mente” (mind) because this is the research sector that we have supported since 2002 (that of adult stem cells) in an attempt to provide scientific answers today that can be transformed into hope tomorrow.
