Jordi Torres Fernàndez was born in Rubì, in Spain on 27 August 1987.
In 1998 he became the Spanish champion in the minibikes category, before winning the 125 national championship in both 2001 and 2002.
In 2003, he competed in the Spanish Supersport championship, while in 206 he was a wildcard at the Valencian round of the Supersport world championship. In both 2007 and 2008 he wildcarded in the Superstock1000 category. 2010 saw him fight in the CEV Moto2 class, where he finished in second position, before taking the national Moto2 title in both 2011 and 2012.
In that same category, he scored his first race win during the 2013 season, closing the season in tenth place. A difficult 2014 season, in the same championship, saw him close in sixteenth place.
In 2015 Jordi enjoyed his first World SBK experience, a positive season in which he scored four podiums, including the race win at the final round of Qatar. He closed the season in fifth place overall.
In 2016, his first season with the Althea BMW Team, he concluded the year in sixth place.
