Althea Racing has its head office at the parent company Althea SpA in Civita Castellana. Its racing department includes a 2.000 square metres covered area, where besides the development and motor assemblage activity, and the Team’s logistics, there is also a design/planning and communication department directed by Maya Cohen. The principal attraction of the whole complex is Genesio Bevilacqua’s museum named "Bikes of legends" (www.genesiobevilacqua.it), Bevilacqua is the founder of the firm and group Althea SpA. On show inside the museum the best racing bike representation of the last 40 years; in fact it has become destination of an “international pilgrimage” of many enthusiasts and experts of the racing sector and not only.
The Althea Racing team has defined its programmes for the next competition season, that will see it committed to the World SBK and CIV championships. Thanks to the agreement reached with Ducati Corse, the Borgo Panigale firm, the riders of the team will have the Ducati 1098R bike in the 2010 version that will be used both in the World SBK and in the Italian CIV. The riders that will participate in the World SBK are Carlos Checa and Shane Byrne. The Spanish rider needs no further introduction and his experience and professionalism will be conclusive for the achievement of those prestigious results to which the team decidedly aims to.
Regarding Shakey Byrne, the strong English rider will finally have the possibility next year to express all his potential and to compete at maximum levels. But the commitment of the Ducati Althea team doesn't end here. In fact Flavio Gentile will be lined up in the CIV also for the next season at the wheel of a Ducati 1098 R in the 2010 version. Last year, at his debut in the maximum category, Gentile was the Italian Superbike revelation classifying himself in fifth place of the final classification and in first place in the category reserved for the debutantes. Made strong by a greater experience, and thanks also to the appearances in the year 2009 in the world Supersport and Superbike in which the rider from the Puglia region had the opportunity to participate, and with the opportunity to exploit to the utmost the full potential of the Ducati 1098R, Gentile will now participate in the CIV aiming to win the Superbike Italian champion title. The team that will support him in the next season is one committed to the world Superbike and will be able therefore to put highly competitive means at Flavio’s disposal.
The team’s technical staff includes furthermore the Ducati Racing’s most prestigious engineers, to whom is assigned the technical direction on the racetrack of the bikes at the riders’ disposal.
The logistics and the organization at headquarters is assigned to Moreno Coppola, who already boasts a remarkable experience in the technical and organizational field, matured during his many years at the top levels of Althea Racing.
